“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, Who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-7

Massive tornado rips through Moore, Oklahoma: 51 killed, including 20 children; more feared dead

            ::

State Parties -> America's Party of Oklahoma

Associated Press

A devastating, two-mile-wide tornado touched down near Oklahoma City on Monday, killing at least 51 people—including at least 20 children—decimating homes, businesses and a pair of elementary schools in the suburb of Moore.

According to the state's medical examiner, the death toll was expected to rise.

The schools—Plaza Towers Elementary and Briarwood Elementary—were leveled by the tornado. It was unclear how many children were in them at the time the twister hit, but according to KFOR-TV, at least seven children died at Plaza Towers, and as many as two dozen more were feared to be trapped inside the rubble. An Associated Press photographer saw rescue workers pull several children out alive. A makeshift triage center was set up in the school's parking lot.

"This is war-zone terrible," Jon Welsh, a helicopter pilot for KFOR who lives in Moore, said while surveying the damage from the air. "This school is completely gone."

Psalm 123 - Praying To Our LORD To Guard Us From Scorn And Contempt

            ::

Life, Liberty, Faith & the Family (Independent) -> The Always In Prayer Network

Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the LORD our God, until He has mercy on us. Have mercy on us, O LORD, have mercy on us, for we are exceedingly filled with contempt! Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorn of those who are at ease, with the contempt of the proud.

The Gospel Isn't Just The Good News, It's The Best News!

            ::

Life, Liberty, Faith & the Family (Independent) -> The Always In Prayer Network

I would like to share with all of you the best news we could ever receive, prompted by a book that I am reading entitled, "One Heartbeat Away - Your Journey Into Eternity." Sometimes we don't think about or like to think about the fact that each one of us, regardless of our age or health condition, is just one heartbeat away from stepping from this life into eternity. Some of us have not yet made preparations for that transition, even though our Creator has already made those preparations for us, if we only respond to His invitation.

Jesus Christ said, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:1-3).

Each of us can promptly respond to God's invitation, in the privacy of our heart, by surrendering our life to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. Our faith in Christ and a simple sincere prayer like this is sufficient:

Heavenly Father, I confess that I have sinned against You and need Your salvation. Please forgive all of my wrongdoing, and let me live in relationship with You from now on. I believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures. I now receive Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior, fully trusting the work You accomplished once and for all on the cross. Thank you for saving me and accepting me. Please help me live a life that is pleasing to You. I am eternally Yours. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

May God supply you and your families all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus! (Philippians 4:19)

And By This All Men Will Know That You Are Love

Life, Liberty, Faith & the Family (Independent) -> The Always In Prayer Network

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God, and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.

You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them. We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us. If someone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.” 1 John 4:1-21

Title: You Are Love

You are justice for every oppression
You’re forgiveness for every confession
You are beauty, goodness, blessing
You are love

You are healing for every sickness
You are power in every weakness
You are mighty, holy, faithful,
You are love

O God of the Heavens
You descended from your throne
Gave Your Son as a ransom
And by this all men will know that You are love

We were thirsty, you gave us water
We were orphans, now you are our Father
We were desperate, hungry, seeking
You are love

O God of the Heavens
You descended from your throne
Gave Your Son for our ransom
And by this all men will know

O God of the Heavens
You descended from your throne
Gave Your Son for our ransom
And by this all men will know that You are love
You are love

Everlasting, Never ending
All consuming, You are love

Everlasting, Never ending
All consuming, You are love

O God of the Heavens
You descended from your throne
Gave Your Son for our ransom
And by this all men will know

O God of the Heavens
You descended from your throne
Gave Your Son for our ransom

And by this all men will know that You are love

Dr. David M. Berman

Jeremiah 17:5 “Thus says the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from the LORD.”

In life’s observations we often miss the basic point of Scripture concerning corruption of the human condition. We so desire to see something good, to believe that “This time it will be different.” We get caught up in the idea that the next politician will make the needed changes. We have wishful thinking that says “If we could only get our party or candidate in office, finally we will go back to the Constitution.” The political forces know this and use it well with parsing of words and images to manipulate the masses into a false hope that this time it will be distinctively better.

Many years ago when I was in my 20’s I too held to that hope, the hope that if we could work hard to change politics the nation would once again be great. With each passing year, with each passing election, with each passing set of lies, it became more and more clear that the above biblical passage rings true. Trusting in flesh leads to discouragement, and a curse.

When Barack Obama was running for president his team was more than skillful at manipulating masses of people. They were downright brilliant in their tactics. “Hope and change” was their slogan and it resonated with so many. The idea that a black man could be president was moving to many blacks, who view the nation’s history of slavery as the supreme motivator in electing him. I can understand it. I understand very well how any group of people can be manipulated by political power and promises. In fact many Evangelical Christians were manipulated by the Republican Party as well.
What has happened is that each election has simply brought more of the same corruption, central power, fear of government, and infringement of natural rights. In fact Obama is really Bush on steroids when it comes to spending and central power grabbing. From Bush’s “no child left behind” power usurpation of state and parental rights to Obama’s banking and health care power grab, the country has given itself over to a deep trust in the natural man, and trust in flesh. Government will be god by manipulation first, and then by force against all who do not drink the Kool-Aid and continue to stand in its way.

We are now a nation that loathes our history of slavery and the way we treated the Native Americans (as we should), and at the same time murders 55 million of our children with a strange celebration of it as a “right.” Recently [Alleged] President Obama addressed the national Planned Parenthood conference and said these words: “Thank you Planned Parenthood, God bless you.”  Just the thought of a president addressing and lauding the demonic practices of the abortion industry leader is enough to make any Christian nauseous, but to hear him say “God Bless You” to Planned Parenthood truly shows the state we are in and that trusting in flesh is indeed a curse. 55 million babies murdered and the largest percentage of them has been slain by Planned Parenthood. In Florida, Planned Parenthood testified against a bill that would at least say that a baby born alive from a failed abortion attempts must be cared for and allowed to live. The abortion “provider” wanted the doctor to be able to kill the child even if she survived the abortion attempt.

How sick have we become?

Am I saying that there is no way we can come back to sanity, and that we should not vote? No I am not. In fact the history of Israel teaches us that there were some revivalist kings who did the right thing before God. What I am saying is that our “trust” must never be in the flesh. The natural man if not our hope. The political marketing, manipulation, and twisting must never be our motivator. We must do as Reagan taught us “trust but verify.” Never believe any politician’s word. Watch their previous actions. We must remember that the flesh is enmity with God:

Romans 8:5-7 “For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.”

Trusting a political party or politician is a curse. It is misplaced trust and leads to discouragement. The natural man does not understand the things of God and therefore any Christian who puts their trust in unsaved leaders (even if they use Christian lingo) is making a large error in judgment. For over twenty years many “pro family” organizations have been in bed with the Republicans in an unholy alliance of trust. Instead of seeing things change, we have seen an increase in government size and abuse. There seems to be something intoxicating for many who are in the thick of power. Even good people can become corrupted by its lure. The Republican Party has baited Christians for over twenty five years with promises. What has the “Christian” political cabal done to keep them accountable to their promises?...nothing!

I am not advocating giving up politically; I am simply saying that we must not put our trust in flesh. Jeremiah warned us long ago but as usual in the human condition, we thought we knew better and “this time it would be different”….well I think it’s clear that it has not been different; in fact it seems that Ecclesiastes was right as well when he said “there is nothing new under the sun.” Flesh has always been a curse since the fall, and it continues to be today. May The Lord have mercy on us and may we elect leaders who lean on the blessed Savior instead of on their own flesh. Obama is the worst President we have ever had, but we must ask ourselves is he is the problem or is it that our nation has simply become cursed by our trust in the man’s wisdom. I think it is quite obvious. We have trusted in the human condition and we have been cursed with a leader who celebrates the murder of 55 million babies with “thank you Planned Parenthood, God bless you.” Obama is simply a reflection of our worship of the false god of human wisdom over the true God of the Bible.

Be Of Good Courage All You Who Hope In The LORD - Psalm 31

           ::

Life, Liberty, Faith & the Family (Independent) -> The Always In Prayer Network

A brother in Christ prayed part of this Psalm with us this morning:

“In You, O LORD, I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Your righteousness. Bow down Your ear to me, deliver me speedily; be my rock of refuge, a fortress of defense to save me. For You are my rock and my fortress; therefore, for Your name's sake, lead me and guide me. Pull me out of the net which they have secretly laid for me, for You are my strength. Into Your hand I commit my spirit; You have redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

I have hated those who regard useless idols; but I trust in the LORD. I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, and have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. Have mercy on me, O LORD, for I am in trouble; my eye wastes away with grief, yes, my soul and my body! For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away. I am a reproach among all my enemies, but especially among my neighbors, and am repulsive to my acquaintances; those who see me outside flee from me. I am forgotten like a dead man, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel. For I hear the slander of many; fear is on every side; while they take counsel together against me, they scheme to take away my life.

But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD; I say, "You are my God." My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. Make Your face shine upon Your servant; save me for Your mercies' sake. Do not let me be ashamed, O LORD, for I have called upon You; let the wicked be ashamed; let them be silent in the grave. Let the lying lips be put to silence, which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

Oh, how great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! You shall hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the plots of man; You shall keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Blessed be the LORD, for He has shown me His marvelous kindness in a strong city! For I said in my haste, "I am cut off from before Your eyes"; nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried out to You. Oh, love the LORD, all you His saints! For the LORD preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person.

Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the LORD.” Psalm 31

"You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are."

"While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian."

"The blessing and protection of Heaven are at all times necessary but especially so in times of public distress and danger. The General hopes and trusts that every officer and man will endeavor to live and act as becomes a Christian soldier, defending the dearest rights and liberties of his country."

"I now make it my earnest prayer that God would… most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility, and pacific temper of the mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion."

Our God is Faithful - Hebrews 13:1-8

Life, Liberty, Faith & the Family (Independent) -> The Always In Prayer Network

“Let brotherly love continue. Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some have unwittingly entertained angels. Remember the prisoners as if chained with them -those who are mistreated - since you yourselves are in the body also. Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge. Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?" Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews 13:1-8

Laura Story's story behind the song "Faithful God"

http://www.laurastorymusic.com/behind-the-song-faithful-god/

The song “Faithful God” is definitely one of my favorite songs on the CD. It is the very last song which is so fitting because I feel like it’s the conclusion of everything that I’ve learned, everything that I’ve experienced just these past few years with Martin’s health and with so many things going on in our lives. A lot of people ask me, “What has God taught you in all of this? What have you gained spiritually from walking through all of this?” There have been highs and lows in our lives—mountains and valleys, but at the end of the day God has been faithful to us. Every promise he has made to us, he has kept. Every need that we have had in our lives, he has met. So I want that to be the pillar of our lives—that God is faithful.

May the grace that sought my heart on that first day
Be the grace that binds my heart to stay
May the truth that opened up my eyes on that first time
Be the thoughts on my mind that never go away

For You are a lamp unto my feet
A light to my path
You're the hand that's holding me

Faithful God, every promise kept
Every need You've met, Faithful God

May the love that caught my heart to set it free
Be the love that others see in me
And may this hope that's reaches to the depths of human need
Be the song that I sing in joy and suffering

For You are the love that never leaves
The friend that won't deceive
You're the one sure thing

Faithful God, every promise kept
Every need You've met, Faithful God

And all I am and all I'll ever be
Is all because You love faithfully
Faithful God

How deep, how wide the love
That pierced His side, the love
Redemption's mine, O Love that will not let me go

How deep the love (How deep, how wide the love)
How deep the love (That pierced His side, the love)
Redemption's mine, O Love that will not let me go ...will not let me...

How deep, how wide the love
That pierced His side, the love
Redemption's mine, O Love that will not let me go

Faithful God, every promise kept
Every need You've met, Faithful God

And all I am and all I'll ever be
Is all because You love faithfully

Laura Story - Blessings Lyrics

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we have faith to believe

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise
